Well, Causey took a one-way trip to the dog park tonight to meet his forever parents! Amy and Patrick met us at Burger dog park in Smyrna to give Causey a look see. They had seen him in the kennel last weekend, and something about him got their attention. Was is his beautiful white coat, or his spotted ears, or the calm that exuded from him? Whatever it was, it worked. They love how well he walks on a leash - good thing, he's going to live in the heart of Atlanta!
What a wonderful house guest we had for 5 days, and he has an open invitation to come and visit whenever he would like! Yeah Causey-Moto, you so deserve a soft place to lay your head after 4 years of racing!

I Got Spots ...
Foster Mom has been trying to get pictures of my ears from the rear every day this week. She finally succeeded! I'm so busy staring into her eyes, that she's had a terribly difficult time capturing my most unique markings - the Spotted Earsies! They really are cute as you can see.
I've made great strides in mastering the stairs too! It's easy to go down, one step at a time, but I'm still trying to figure out how the back legs keep up with the front legs. But as you can see, I am doing them on my own now.
Next lesson, how to Jump in the Car! I can get the front legs in, but again, the back legs aren't quite sure what to do. Foster Mom tried to help me in the car to go for a ride to meet the in-laws and to PetsMart, so I tried to help too. When she put my front legs in, my back legs somehow grabbed the underside of the bumper of the car, and she was stuck holding me. It was quite an awkward moment as she didn't want to hurt, and I didn't want to scare her. Finally, extra treats prevailed. I put my front feet on the bedding, and she boosted the rest of me in. I was laying down, resting, before the car even backed out of the driveway. I'm an Excellent car rider!
I hear I'm going for a ride tomorrow. It might be one-way - not sure what that means, but I hope it's a good thing!

Day One - What is a Foster Home???

Well, I've been in this here foster home for one whole day now, and let me tell you - it's a busy place! These nice people picked me up in a 'Roo-Hauler' yesterday afternoon and said they were taking me a place with many a hound with lots of room to play. We stopped at a store on the way home, but I waited patiently in the car. In fact, they said I was an exceptional 'rider' because I laid right down on the way.
At their home, I hopped out of the car and headed into the garage to 'explore'. When I was finished sniffing cars and boxes, I hopped up the stairs and into the kitchen. They seemed surprised that I managed the stairs with no help at all... I can't count, but there weren't too many steps, not like the ones to the sleeping area.
I explored, found a cat, tried to talk to him, and the nice lady talked back to me in a stern voice. I ignore the cat now; I guess he's off limits. I got to meet 3 of their hounds before we went outside for a potty break. They have this huge deck with a nice long ramp, so I didn't have to do any stairs at all. What I didn't know - the lady stopped at the store to pick up special shampoo that's supposed to make my hair turn white. I got a BATH! and I didn't mind at all. It was refreshing.
I spent the rest of the day exploring the yard, figuring out the 'resting' and feeding arrangements, getting a pawdicure that tickled my toes, and lastly, the big stairs - I did those with a little help from my foster dad.
I slept in the bedroom with all of the hounds and had my special place by the door. I did wake up my foster mom whining to practice the stairs again and head back outside to 'practice' the PP once during the night.
I've learned this word "OUT" - when she says it, she points to the dog room and a bed. She gives me treats when I lay down on one of the beds. Jackpot! What a cool thing - lay down, get food - how easy is that! I like the 'out' word. She doesn't like me in the kitchen too much when she's doing stuff on the 'counters'.
All of my foster brothers and sister seem to like me - I follow them, and they follow me. Only one of them growled at me; they said I stepped on his foot when he was laying down. Oops - I was just trying to get around him - but he's BIG and takes up lots of space when he's laying down. I 'roached' and got a few belly rubs.
All in all, this foster thing is a piece of cake! It's pretty fun too - I get to follow the people and wander as much as I want. They made me a special place in the dog room all of my own for when they leave the house. So far they have left twice, and I've been perfect they said.
It's time for a nap - foster mom keeps pestering me for more information to translate, but I can hardly keep my eyes open. It's been a big first day, but it sounds like they think I did pretty good as a first timer in the house! I had an 'accident' that foster mom wasn't too happy about, but now she takes me out every hour during the day and if I have a 'PP', I get a treat - another easy Jackpot that I'm happy to help out with!
AKA Causey-Moto, Cuz Bunny, Cuzzy, Causey - not sure what they all mean, but the bunny part - I'm as fluffy as a white bunny, and much cuter as you can see from my photos.
